SALYERSVILLE RESTAURANT ROW

Location

This segment of the Parkway project runs from just east of the end of the current Mountain Parkway, through the Restaurant Row district in Salyersville, to just east of the KY 114 junction (Rock House Road). It covers 2.4 miles of existing roadway, from mile markers 75.3-77.7.

This segment of the Parkway was awarded a competitive $24 million federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant that expedited the project, allowing construction to begin two years ahead of schedule.

The Restaurant Row segment was completed in November 2019. This segment underwent three years of construction and marks the second section of the Parkway to be completed.

Project Description:

  • Extend Parkway for the first time since it was built
  • Widen road to four lanes
  • Limit entry points to ensure safety and mobility
  • Add access roads to support commercial and retail corridor
