Drivers who use KY 1419 (Gillmore Road) in Wolfe County will need to find an alternate route Tuesday through Thursday, June 10-12. The road will be closed at milepoint 4.6 for demolition of the existing Mountain Parkway overpass so a new bridge can be built as part of the Mountain Parkway expansion project. After completion of the project, the existing Mountain Parkway alignment will become the westbound lanes of the new four-lane route. Traffic was recently shifted to what will be the new eastbound lanes so the westbound side can be rebuilt between Stillwater and Helechawa (exits 46-57).
No marked detour will be posted. Drivers can use KY 1812, KY 205, and KY 191 as an alternate route to bypass the closure.
Fewer than 175 vehicles use this section of KY 1419 each day.
