Rolling roadblocks will cause temporary traffic delays
Rolling roadblocks will be in effect Friday, July 15 for bridge work on the Mountain Parkway in Wolfe, Morgan and Magoffin counties. Motorists may encounter temporary traffic delays.
Beginning at 7:30 a.m. Friday, a construction crew will patch bridge ends along the Mountain Parkway between mile markers 56 and 64. This area is the four-lane section of the parkway near Helechawa. The contractor will slow traffic for brief periods of time to allow the bridge work to be completed. Temporary traffic stoppages may also be necessary.
Bridge end patching is necessary to address settlement that occurs between roads and bridges. The construction crew will start on the eastbound lanes and then move to the westbound side of the parkway. Work is anticipated to be complete by 6 p.m. Friday.
Motorists should use caution and drive with awareness in all work zones.
