Magoffin County West Segment

Beam Setting Scheduled for Mountain Parkway Bridge

Work will cause temporary delays in Magoffin County

Construction crews on the Mountain Parkway Expansion project will set beams this week for a new bridge under construction in Magoffin County. The work, scheduled for Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29, will cause minor traffic delays.

There will be brief, intermittent road closures in both directions of the Mountain Parkway around mile point 65 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Flaggers will be in place as trucks hauling the new bridge beams enter the work site. Motorists are encouraged to slow down and drive with caution in all construction zones.

The new bridge is located at mile point 65.3 over Johnson Creek and Cutuno-Hager Road. It will ultimately carry eastbound traffic when the parkway is widened to four lanes. Construction on this part of the parkway, the Magoffin County West segment, is scheduled for completion in 2023.
